Action Learning

Action Learning is a critical part of high-impact blended learning programs. Action Learning refers to structured on-the-job activities designed to deepen and broaden the trainee’s capabilities and understanding. Action learning can be stand-alone pre-work that prepares learners for a different type of learning activity, or follow-up reinforcement after a workshop.

Action learning puts the learner in charge of their learning like no other type of learning activity. The best action learning activities are carefully designed to minimize risk and still put the learner in a completely real situation. The most effective action learning includes a structured debrief that allows the learner to ask questions and reflect on his or her experience. The debrief allows for further integration of the targeted skills.
